Orienteering New Brunswick will host the 2008 Canadian Orienteering Championships in and near Fundy National Park Aug 21 - 24, 2008. This will include two world ranking events (middle and long distance on August 23 and 24th).
The Fundy National Park Maple Grove map is closed to orienteering activity in the meantime.
"Fishbones" is a pre COC warm up and will include sprint, middle and long distance events the weekend prior to the COC's. It will be held in Rockwood Park, Saint John, N.B., August 16-17, 2008. The Fishbones officials will include Mike Smith, Wil Smith and Holger Hott. It is based upon the simplified meet organization used by Barebones in Alberta.
A fun sprint on the ocean floor at Hopewell Rocks will be held on August 21, 2008.
Other events will include the Sass Peepre national junior training camp, sessions on the new national coaching programme, the Canadian Orienteering Federation Annual General Meeting, the COC banquet, an ice cream social, etc.
