About The Falcons

April 19, 2008 Mapping Clinic

Bill Anderson from the Ottawa orienteering club was invited by the Falcons orienteering club to come to Moncton to put on a mapping clinic the weekend of April 18, 19 & 20. The clinic was an introductory course on making orienteering maps (not courses). The map skills learned helped the candidates create orienteering maps from base maps.  The course consisted of a class room setting and field exercise.

February 23, 2008 Spring time is around the corner!

The days are slowly getting longer, and you wouldn't believe it with the amount of snow on the ground, but the spring orienteering season schedule is out and plans are well underway!

A wonderful season packed full of local orienteering events awaits you!   So while the snow is still falling and you are cooped up in the house, take out your calendar and plan your spring season.

While perusing the list of planned events you'll also notice that the Canadian Orienteering Championships are coming to New Brunswick.   This will be a fantastic opportunity to participate in a major orienteering event on updated maps and experience electronic punching.   Make sure you check the Orienteering NB COC 2008 web site often as details and updates will be posted regularly.
