	Picking up Speed for the Spring Season

A community interest meeting is in the works. All orienteers, neophytes and old hands alike, in the Saint John and surrounding areas are welcome. Do you want to participate in a fun outdoor activity? Do you want to something that the whole family can do? Are you looking to supplement your cross country and road running training? Then orienteering is the sport for you. Keep your eyes and ears open. Posters will be placed around Saint John. I will also try to place a public announcement in the local newspapers and on the radio.

The meeting will be structured around a welcoming orienteering session/ training event. I will be looking to learn from those in attendance what they would like to see happen this spring in the Saint John area.

Saint Mark's 11th Annual Orienteering Challenge. Saturday April 29th. Rockwood Park, Saint John, NB. Please register by April 21st to ensure that you get a map. This is a score "o" type event, which means that there are a set number of controls, and you try to get as many as you can within the set time period. Though the event is principally for the scouting movement, the organizers have graciously extended their invitation to all that register in advance. This could be a great introductory event for those new to the sport of orienteering.
