Fundy "O" Club 1996 Annual Report

by Don Heron

This past year we have held two official Orienteering meets at Rockwood Park. The first one, the Eastern Canadians in June with 55 participants, and the second in October with 30 participants. As well, there were two small events put on specifically for scouts and girl guides, with total numbers for the two groups as thirty. These groups has made arrangements to try again in early April.

The TRIM course map of Rockwood Park was actively promoted during the summer. Two local high schools classes were introduced to the sport, using the TRIM map. Map sales by the park have been in the 150 to 200 range this year, mostly to recreational individuals.

The park and city administration are very pleased with the 1:5000 map (made from several pieces fitted together) that they had laminated and have hung in the Interpretation Center.

We were the agent for map printing for the Autumn Amble at Ing's Interval in October. Also, we printed the maps for the Nova Scotia Championships at Wentworth West in early October.
