Girl Guides Run Wild in Woolastook Park

Theresa Whaley near Mactaquac

On July 24, 1995, 116 Guides and 24 Guiders took part in an orienteering meet held at Woolastook Park. The Guides participated in groups of two. Only 13 girls did not finish the course, due mostly to the extreme heat.

There were Guides from Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia and PEI as well as New Brunswick. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and a few said that they would like to orienteer again.

Alex Whaley, Greg Cameron and Vicky Whaley were extremely helpful in preparing and running the meet.
