Autumn Amble 2003

Though the day opened with pouring rain, the skies cleared, and the sun had made an appearance by the time that we started the course at 1 p.m. Thank you to the 60 people who braved the elements to come out to Fundy Park; we hope you had fun! Among the participants were Army Cadets from Fredericton, St. Michael's Scouts and Venturers, great representation from Saint John and Fredericton, some first-time orienteerers, and even a van-load of Nova Scotians! The day was complete with delicious cookies and chicken fricot, as well as O-crested water-bottle holders and chocolate bars to the top finishers.

This was my first time as Meet Director, and I must thank my dream team of Brigitta and Serge Ouellette, also first time Course Setters. Under the wisdom and guidance of Luella Smith, Controller, we had a ton of fun and learned a lot. Special thanks as well to Guilda Cawley (registration and cook extraordinaire), Terry Edgett (registration and donation of chicken for the stew), Harold McQuade, Garth Holder and his Scouts, the young Ouellettes, and everyone who pitched in to make this a successful event!
