So it has seemed this spring and June 1 was no exception, but thankfully we managed to get our event at Mactaquac completed before the heavens opened for their daily deluge. Almost 30 people took part, with a varied mix of hardened veterans, newcomers, and recent clinic graduates, so we had wayfarers and competitive runners enjoying the courses set by Dave Fellows. They were good courses, judging from post-race feedback. Several of our newcomers had attended the clinic given the previous day by Stig Skarborn in Odell Park, and were gearing up for an adventure race. A couple of them burned up the course 2, so it looks like they’re on the right track.

The Sass Peepre inter-club trophy remained with the local Fredericton Foxes orienteering club for the third consecutive year, retained by the winning team of Stig Skarborn, Alex Whaley and Barbara St-Laurent. Results follow.
